Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by the lovely ladies at The Broke and the Bookish now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl

This week’s topic is Top Ten Bookish Resolutions or Goals
I’ve been meaning to write a post about my blogging/reading goals for 2018, so when I saw this topic coming up for TT I held off until today.
I’ve got quite a few ideas that I’d like to incorporate into the blog this year and here are a few.
1. NetGalley Ban for January
I’ve already started this ban and haven’t done too badly so far. One thing that definitely helps is not having a visible bookmark for NetGalley on my browser, out of sight out of mind.
2. Book of the Month
I’d really like to highlight a particular book that I’ve enjoyed each month.
3. Audiobook of the Month
In the same vein as the previous goal I’d like to highlight an audiobook of the month and hopefully encourage more people to try them out.
4. Discussion Posts
I love reading other bloggers discussion posts and really want to give this a try. One of my sisters very kindly give me a Lit Chat box from Book Riot a while ago and it’s got some great bookish conversation starters.
5. Buddy Reads
I loved the buddy reads I took part in with Zuky@Book Bum and would love to do some more. So do get in contact if you see me reading the same book as you and want to join in.
6. Read My Own Books
I’m sure we all feel the same way about our own books being neglecting in favour of ARCs, which is one of the reasons why I joined the Beat The Backlist Challenge this year.
7. Read My Library Books
I have a terrible habit of borrowing library books and not reading them, so this year I’m only going to get books out that I’ll definitely read, maybe.
8. Keep Up With Reviews
I’ve got a backlog of reviews to write and it’s a horrible feeling. So this year I’m going to keep on top of them! Oh hang on that book really needs to be read, oh I really do need to check twitter and blog hop and…
9 Review My Own Books on the Blog
This year I definitely want to post reviews for my own books on here and not just ARCs
10. Enjoy Reading and Blogging
Last but definitely not least, keep on enjoying reading and blogging about books. 🙂
Next week’s topic:
Books I Really Liked but Can’t Remember Anything/Much About
Great goals! I don’t have any official goals but I do plan to read more of my own books and I’ve already read 3 now so I’m doing ok. I try to only request another book on NG after I reviewed one but it’s still hard. I see too many mentions on Twitter about books that can be requested. I look forward to your next week’s topic already :-).

Yes Twitter is really good for acquiring new books as well!

I love all these goals. The Netgalley would be hard, but smart! I would be interested in the discussion post and buddy reads because I always want to “talk about” a book I’m reading when I feel baffled!!

These are all great goals! I really love the idea of a buddy read, but I probably wouldn’t be a great buddy as the pace at which I read fluctuates haha.

Thank you and no worries I do that too sometimes lol

Fab goals! We definitely need to do another buddy read soon!
I love the Book of the Month idea, I do my favourite book of the month in my round-ups and it can be so hard picking the book sometimes but it’s nice to showcase one!
I also need to read my own books! My shelves are overflowing with unread novels 😛

This list is great 🙂
All very achievable, some of these I’m still holding on to from last year’s resolution post like reading my own and library books first.
I’m always super nervous about trying to write discussion posts, but I love reading them.

This is a really great list of resolutions and I look forward to reading some of your discussion posts in future. Don’t worry or feel nervous though, just write about anything you feel like, no matter what it is and it turns into a discussion post 🙂
I’m afraid I’m very guilty of book hording, whether from libraries, ARCs or ones I’ve bought or occasionally won and have had to give back lots of library books without reading them so I like your resolution to read more of those books 🙂 Best of luck and I hope no matter what you do enjoy reading and blogging because at the end of the day we read and blog for fun, and it should always be fun 🙂 🙂 🙂

You have fantastic goals! Maybe when I get caught up, we can plan a buddy read this year! I still have two people to read with but would love to find a historical fiction or something to explore with you at some point.

Great goals! I really should join you with these… Good luck with the Netgalley ban; I wasn’t going to request and suddenly I have four new titles on my list. xD The whole book of the month thing is an excellent idea!

OK, I’m really happy to hear that I am not the only one who returns library books unread! And I told myself I was going to ban myself from requesting any new ARCs through Net Galley and then I had a moment and requested several… oops!
Good luck on your goals!!

As soon as I saw that this was this week’s theme, I jumped and wrote it for my blog! I really like your resolutions, particularly the Edelweiss and Netgalley ones—I am doing something similar this year. And that buddy read point on your list sounds really really good! I might have to join in one day if you end up doing it 😊
