Take a look back at your year of nonfiction and reflect on the following questions – What was your favorite nonfiction read of the year? What was your favorite nonfiction read of the year?
That’s a hard decision, but it’s got to be these three books.
Do you have a particular topic you’ve been attracted to more this year?
I don’t think I have been more attracted to one particular subject but that’s normal for me as I like to mix up what I’m reading/ listening to.
What nonfiction book have you recommended the most?
I think it’s probably this audiobook, in fact I recommended to my brother last weekend.
What are you hoping to get out of participating in Nonfiction November?
I’m looking forward to looking back over my my non-fiction reads and finding some more books to add to my tbr mountain.

I can’t wait to read your review! And I’m always so interested in seeing how people from other countries living in the US perceive it, especially as living abroad at the moment myself I see how negatively it’s often viewed. Added it to my list, thanks as always for your great recommendations 🙂

Oh this sounds fun! I don’t think I’ll have the time to participate actively, but I was already planning to read at least two non fiction reads next month. (Educated by Tara Westover and Babel by Gaston Dorren). My favorite non fiction book of the year is probably between The Sun Does Shine by Anthony Ray Hinton and Born A Crime by Trevor Noah so far.

A Light in the Dark sounds fascinating. How do you think it would hold up to a Canadian winter? Would I just be more depressed come the end of March when Britain is in full spring and Nova Scotia still has another month of winter ahead? Or have I the wrong idea of British climate?

Good question! Our spring can be quite late sometimes, so not always full in March so it might a good pick.

Your selection ‘The Light in the Dark resonated with me because winter is right around the corner. November stubs out the glow of autumn and the days tighten into shorter hours. Perfect winter read. “If Only They Didn’t Speak English”…well the title is the hook and I always enjoy Jon Sopel’s BBC commentary…frank and factual! Thanks for you comments and I hop you have found some new books for your TBR!
