I’m joining in again with Sam’s 2019 When Are You Reading? Challenge. Here’s what she says about it:
“I’ve decided on one small change this year. I’ve struggled to find books set in the 1600s for two years. It’s just not a very exciting time in world history! So I’ve decided to make 1500-1699 one category, 1300-1499 another, and make the earliest Pre-1300. We’ll see how this helps this year. So, here are the time periods:
- Pre 1300
- 1300-1499
- 1500-1699
- 1700-1799
- 1800-1899
- 1900-1919
- 1920-1939
- 1940-1959
- 1960-1979
- 1980-1999
- 2000-Present
- The Future
this is a super cool challenge, thank you for posting it.

I can’t remember I know he’s done a series on the Boar war. I really did enjoy his books!

The Decameron would fit your 1300s (and there’s some ‘interesting’ stories in it!). Good luck!

That’s the era of the Hundred Years War. Edward III, Henry V, Joan of Arc. Plenty of good stuff to look for once you know the players. Are these books written in that era or are they taking place in that era? Fiction, nonfiction, does it matter?

Thanks I’ve actually found a book that I already own but didn’t think it would be in the right period. 🙂

Oh I didn’t know the new challenge was going live already! I’m definitely joining again, especially since she made the era change since I always struggle to find those 1600s titles as well. xD Good luck!

1600’s a favourite period for me as it covers The Restoration. Try Restoration and Merivel a man of his time, both by Rose Tremain. My favourite book ever is Forever Amber by Kathleen Winsor. Happy Reading.
