Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s topic is the first ten books I reviewed. I’ve been a member of Goodreads since February 2011, so these reviews are from back then. If you click on each cover you should be able to read my reviews 😀
I really liked the first part about Italy, warmed to the Indian ashram and was a bit bored by the time I got to Bali. Its a interesting read with some fabulous writing. Then at other times its annoying and irritating.
This is was another excellent book by this brilliant author. The pace was excellent as were the characters and setting. All very believable and a great ending. If you like a good thriller be sure to read his books.
I loved this book, my first by this author, but certainly not the last. The characters, plot and story were brilliant and the writing style is beautiful. Its a very gentle chick lit but totally enthralling
I really enjoyed listening to this audio. It is so refreshing to listen to someone who is able to be so open and honest about the things they struggle with. Anne Jackson has done, and is doing a brilliant job with this book, which is one of the many aspects of this audio that I love. Its not a rant against the Church, but an encouragement to reach out in grace and mercy to everyone, inside and outside of it. I was instantly gripped by her story and didn’t want to stop listening. She really draws you in and you want to find out how everything works out. I really enjoyed her poems as well which are interspersed throughout. Her narration is excellent, being funny and poignant at times, as she knows exactly how she wants to come across. I think this book is a really great encouragement for the Body of Christ. Thanks to christianaudio.com Reviewers Program for the copy of this audiobook.
I loved this. Its James bond with a Moneypenny twist. Great story with historical facts mixed with a fictional story. Can’t wait to read the other two books in the series!!
I really liked this book but I preferred the parts set in Italy more than the English ones, probably because its more exotic. The story and characters are wonderful and very believable.
This is my first book by Kate Mosse and I’ll definitely try another one. Once I started I couldn’t stop. I really liked the historical context of the story and the writing was beautifully done
I have thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this book. Very good story-telling, which kept me hooked all the way through. I definitely want to read more by this author.
Beautifully written, it had me cringing and laughing out loud.
Love your selection. I read The Ghost years ago as well – I still remember it quite well.

I love looking back and feeling nostalgic 🙂 Eat Pray Love is such a good story. Sadly it’s one I prefer the film over the book. Looks like you were a fan of Nicky Pellegrino 🙂 Nice post, I enjoyed it. hugs, x

I read Life With the Lid Off some years back. It was recommended as a happy read somewhere. I wish the Happy Reads list maker still continued to list reads. Maybe there aren’t enough any more!

I think there’s more happy reads now especially since the marketing of Up Lit!

I haven’t read any of these. Heck, I haven’t even heard of most of them! I’m glad you enjoyed them back in the day, though 🙂

I have not read any of these books. I tried Eat, Pray, Love once but could not get into it. I watched about half an hour of the movie and it didn’t grab me either. I will be checking out your reviews for the others and probably adding some to my TBR.
