Shelf Control is a meme run by Lisa @ Bookshelf Fantasies. It is a weekly celebration of the unread books on our shelves. Pick a book you own but haven’t read, write a post about it (suggestions: include what it’s about, why you want to read it, and when you got it), and link up!

Title: The Lighthouse Keeper’s Daughter
Author: Hazel Gaynor
Published: 2019
Length: 10 hrs and 27 mins
What it’s about? (synopsis via Goodreads):
“1838: when a terrible storm blows up off the Northumberland coast, Grace Darling, the lighthouse keeper’s daughter, knows there is little chance of survival for the passengers on the small ship battling the waves. But her actions set in motion an incredible feat of bravery that echoes down the century.
1938: when 19-year-old Matilda Emmerson sails from across the Atlantic to New England, she faces an uncertain future. Sent away in disgrace, she must stay with her reclusive relative, Harriet Flaherty, a lighthouse keeper on Rhode Island. Once there, Matilda discovers a discarded portrait that opens a window onto a secret that will change her life forever.”
How and when I got it: Another book I pre-ordered months before it was published and that I’ve had on my phone since January!
Why I want to read it: I absolutely loved The Cottingley Secret, and knew I’d love this one went it came out, especially as it’s narrated by Imogen Church one of my favourite narrators.
I loved this one! 👍😍
