Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
The rules are simple:
-
Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
-
Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
-
Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other blogger’s lists.
-
Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s topic is Books I Enjoyed But Never Reviewed. I don’t know why it happens, but sometimes I enjoy a book so much but can’t seem to find the words to write my review. I leave it and think I’ll find the right words but days go by and then week and then months and the review never gets written. Does this happen to you as well or do you write your review no matter what? 🤔

Which Books Would Be On Your List? 📚

Is your reviewing mojo still being awkward?

Fun fact: I have the rabbit figurine collection for Watership Down! It’s in one of those boxes I never unpacked from my last move! 😂😂😂

great list! Isn’t it weird that the books that often mean the most to us are the ones that cause us so many problems to write about! I wish I’d reviewed a ton of books way back when as I remember loving them but no idea why as I’ve got a memory like a goldfish!

Thanks I’m glad I’m not the only one! 😂

There’s so many books I’ve read and haven’t reviewed. Lately, as soon as I finish one book I’m rushing to read the next! I always have heaps of books to get through for my uni course.

I’m glad I’m taking part in the 20 Books of Summer challenge at the moment otherwise I don’t know if I’d be reviewing much either!😂

You’re gonna hate me but…I’ve reviewed everything I read for at least the last five years😬 I’m a bit obsessive about writing them, though I sometimes get behind.
I think it’s harder sometimes to write reviews for books you really enjoyed, not wanting to give up too much or leave out too much for the reader to get your true feelings. It’s an art I’m still trying to master.

I don’t hate you I’m very impressed! What’s your secret? Does it come easy to you or do you force yourself to sit down and write them?

I force myself to not let a book go without a review more than three days. I’m so obsessive about it that I lose sleep over it. It becomes easier to write the review rather than continue to worry about it😏

Good tip!

Oh! And I use a three paragraph format for all of them so that makes it easier: the setup, what worked/didn’t work, summary conclusion that also addresses the narration. This format helps me focus and write them pretty quickly.

another great tip thanks! 😀

I don’t review everything I read, cos I don’t always find the words or the time. Also more often than not when I have to choose between writing a review for a book that I don’t have to review and picking up a new book, I do the latter 🤷♀️

Same here, I’d much rather ead than review! 😀

Watership Down was such a good story! Have you seen the film based on it that came out a little while ago?

I saw the old animated film back in the 70s, but I haven’t seen the new one, yet.

Watership Down and The Wind in the Willows are such beautiful classics. I won’t even know where to start if I want to review them.
Lovely post! Here’s my TTT

I didn’t review Harry Potter either since I read it when I was a kid.

I’m not sure you could accurately review an original Ian Fleming Bond novel today. I think everything the world seems to hate is in them, even if they are a darned good read. Interesting list.

Yes very good point!

I don’t review everything I read and I completely understand what you say about finding the right words, when you love a book, because you really want to do it justice. Sometimes I include books I haven’t reviewed in Six degrees or even a literary duel 😉 just to highlight them.

I always start each new year with a plan to be better organised and review every book I read and it always falls by the wayside before January is over. I have so many books that I wish I had reviewed but it is what it is! 😉

I never reviewed any of the HP’s apart from the Cursed Child, I read them so long ago and I think everyone knows them!

I feel like reviews for good books are harder to write than ones with problems. Sometimes it’s hard to pick out what exactly I loved about it.

Aw, Lucy Dillon! I somehow fell out of the habit of reading her after the first 2 books she published, but I really liked them. And The Sight of You looks really good. Potentially heart-wrecking, but good.
