Finally Fall Book Tag 2020 a

Hello and welcome to my 2020 version of the Finally Fall Book Tag I took part in last year. It was originally created by Alina on her BookTube channel Tall Tales.

In fall, the air is crisp and clear: Name a book with a vivid setting.

autumn1

The audiobook of Daisy Jones & the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid! Even though it’s a novel it felt like I was listening to a real documentary about the rise and fall of a real rock band!

Nature is beautiful… but also dying: Name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief.

autumn2

The Salt Path by Raynor Winn a wonderful memoir that covers many issues including homelessness and terminable illness. Despite these topics it’s a really uplifting read!

Fall is back to school season: Share a non-fiction book that taught you something new

autumn4

9 Secrets to Thriving by Emma J. Bell is a inspiring, hands-on audiobook! I learnt all about how to thrive and find inner resilience from the different ‘thrivers’ the author interviewed from around the world. They shared how they’d kept going through drastic circumstances, and I was astounded that they not only kept going, but grew in spite of the situations they’d found themselves in. Incredible!

In order to keep warm, it’s good to spend some time with the people we love: Name a fictional family/household/friend-group that you’d like to be a part of.

autumn5

I’d love to be part of the friendship group in The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron came across as a fun, feisty, intelligent group of friends who would be a joy to be friends with, especially when there’s sherry and cake! 😉

I loved hearing the poems and anecdotes from the audiobook of Pam Ayres – Down the Line. It made me laugh out loud a lot and would definitely cheer anyone up! 😀

Fall returns every year: Name an old favourite that you’d like to return to soon.

autumn7

As the weather has turned older it’s got me really excited about listening to A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens read by Tom Baker. He performs it so brilliantly that it’s a real highlight of my seasonal listening.
