I’ve got a 2 month trial for Scribd at the moment (thank you Kelly!), and I’m listening to lots of samples of audiobooks to see if I want to borrow them or not. I thought I’d incorporate my thoughts on the samples with a book tag I saw on Kristin Kraves Books a couple of months ago, of trying a chapter to see if I want to carry on reading the rest of the book.

Blood & Sugar by Laura Shepherd-Robinson narrated by Ben Onwukwe

I loved Daughters of Night the second book from Laura Shepherd-Robinson, and immediately borrowed this first book from the library, but unfortunately haven’t got to it yet. Having heard the introduction and first chapter I definitely want to know what happens next. I’m not sure about the narrator though, as his voice is a bit too deep for me, but I’m guessing I’ll get used to it.

And Then There Was None by Agatha Christie Performed by Dan Stevens

I was thrilled when I saw that this was available on Scribd as I’ve never read it or watched any adaptations, but I do know a bit about the story. I love Dan Stevens as a narrator and was hooked as soon as I started listening!

The Falcon Thief: A True Tale of Adventure, Treachery, and the Hunt for the Perfect Bird
by Joshua Hammer Narrated by Matthew Lloyd Davies

This reminds of me The Feather Thief a nonfiction NetGalley book I read a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed. Maybe I wasn’t in the right mood for it, but I haven’t wanted to go back to it after a listened to the first chapter.

Take Six Girls: The Lives of the Mitford Sisters by Laura Thompson narrated by Maggie Mash

After seeing the trailer for the BBC’s The Pursuit of Love by Nancy Mitford, I thought I’d give this a try. The introduction is over an hour long which sort of puts me off, but I may give it another try as I am interested in knowing more about them.

The Zookeepers’ War: An Incredible True Story from the Cold War by J.W. Mohnhaupt
narrated by Jacques Roy
