Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
The rules are simple:
-
Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic โ putting your unique spin on it if you want.
-
Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
-
Add your name to the Linky widget on that dayโs post so that everyone can check out other blogger’s lists.
-
Or if you donโt have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s topic is Books with [___] on the Cover, so I’ve chosen Books with Mainly Text on the Cover, and here are my choices!

These mostly text covers seem to be trending recently.

I’m not a fan of the text covers because I’m swayed by interesting covers to pick up and read the blurb. Another trend is showing illustrated covers of men and women with the same style of almost cartoon drawing.

I don’t normally like them either, but came across loads on WordPress when I was putting this together! ๐

fab choices! I normally swerve away from just text covers, but they do have impact! x

Thanks! They certainly don’t call to me like other covers, unless of course it’s by an author I love! xx

The Book About Getting Older sounds really good.

Yes what I read of it before returning it to the library was really good!

Great idea, well-spotted. I quite like text only covers if they have an original design.

A big, cool font title can make a book stand out.

I quite like text heavy covers, although I think I’m perhaps in a minority there. What I hate on covers are faces. I don’t know why, but when the cover is mostly taken up with a face, it puts me off a bit ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ

Really interesting Jo I’m not keen on that either!

Film / TV tie-ins are the worst, of course. Pretty sure no one asked for that to become a thing ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ

An interesting choice. I am not a fan of mostly text covers and have missed out on great books because they did not catch my eye. I have not read any of these books and none are on my TBR.

I’m the same Carla. It just goes to show that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover!
