February has been a fab bookish month. I managed to read/listen to a total of 12 books. I read 2 books and I listened to 10 audiobooks! After struggling through Pride and Prejudice, I needn’t something fun to follow and so took myself back into the Rivers of London series and binged listened for a second time. Incidentally I listened to them for the first time in February 2022, so perhaps I’ll do it again in February 2024! 😀 I also did a buddy read with Yvo, which is always fun. 😀
Favourites This Month
I loved Dear Mr Pop Star it was so much fun. I loved my time with Peter Grant and Co and can’t decide on a favourite, maybe Foxglove Summer or Whispers Underground or … lol 😂
How was yourFebruary?Did you read or listen to any good books?
Definitely the writing. I didn’t understand what she was going on about sometimes. Plus it was very slow. I would’ve DNF’D if I hadn’t been listening to it for the What’s In A Name? Challenge.
Can I also admit that my only meeting with Ms Austen left me cold. Admittedly it was at school so quite a while ago (understatement) but it’s put me off trying again ever since.
Writing from the Victorian age can definitely be a struggle to get through. I don’t know that I’d enjoy some of my favorites from that period as much now as I did when I originally read them. You know, back in my teens and 20s when I had nothing but time. 😉. You had a great month of reading overall though! I read 12 books too.
Interesting you say you struggled with Pride & Prejudice. Was it the story, the writing or something else?

I struggled with pride and prejudice first time too but I made a mistake of reading it as newbie reader. second I actually enjoyed it.
