My Review

I really do love this series, and this is another fab mystery for Harry and Kat.

This is book 15, and this time the story is set in Venice, where Harry has brought Kat to celebrate their anniversary. Of course that doesn’t exactly happen as they find themselves involved in a murder investigation.

I really enjoyed being back in Venice, even though it was in book form this time. I’ve been twice and could easily visit again after listening, although this story showed a much darker side to the iconic city.

The mystery was very good, full of lots of suspicious characters and a couple of lovable ones as well. I guessed part of what was happening very early on, but almost  changed my mind when I thought the plot was going in a different direction. There was more of a twist than I was expecting which made the reveal much more satisfying.

As always Nathaniel Parker’s narration was perfect. I loved all the voices he used for the different characters, he truly is the voice for this series.

Highly recommended on audio if you enjoy historical cosy mysteries.
