Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
The rules are simple:
-
Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
-
Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
-
Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other blogger’s lists.
-
Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.

Well, I am slightly in love with Clive Myrie!

He’s brilliant isn’t he! If you want more, he hosts a brilliant series on Radio 3 called Music on the Frontline, talking to journalists about the music that helps when when reporting from conflict zones. It’s also on the BBC Sounds app.

Nice pivot, Nicki💜 I only remember the ones I loved (The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Of Mice and Men) and the ones I hated (Wuthering Heights, all things Shakespeare).

Love that Billy Connolly book. I didn’t want to count how many years since I left school but you’ve forced me 36 years 😱

I only remember The Day of the Triffids and Animal Farm, in English. And Cyrano De Bergerac and Le Petit Prince, in French.

I listened to Animal as an adult, but I’m not sure if I would’ve enjoyed it at school!

I can’t remember a thing about it. I do remember absolutely loathing Triffids though 😄

Bono! 😁 Great list, Nicki – and I don’t blame you for skipping the books you read at school. I can just about get to ten, but I’m including three Shakespeare plays in that…

Thanks Jo I had to include Bono! 😂

School was a long time ago for me too. I had a hard time coming up with ten books, but I managed, even though it made my aging brain hurt!
I’ve only read one of these. My husband and I listened to SURRENDER last year over a couple of road trips. We both really enjoyed it. Bono has such a great voice. I could listen to it all day.
Happy TTT!

I honestly can’t remember much about what books I had to read in school either… Definitely Shakespeare though, and I think Brave New World as well.

I did Shakespeare as well, Julius Caesar. 🫣

This week’s topic was tough, and I’ve only been out of school half as long as you, but I read a lot so remembering which books I read just because and which books I was told to read, bit of a challenge I think. I hope you have a great weekend.

I don’t think you need 40 years out of school to struggle remembering what you read! Great with some nonfiction recommendations, “It’s What I Do” sounds right up my alley. 🙂

Great switch for this post, Nicki. I didn’t participate because I only remember some like Of Mice and Men, King Lear and the perennial Romeo and Juliet.
