Hello and Happy Friday! š
This meme was originally created by Meggy @ ChocolateānāWaffles to spread some positivity amongst all the doom and gloom on social media and in the news. Meggy isnāt blogging any more, so I asked her if I could start this up again, and she was very happy for me to do it. Feel free to join in with your own Happy Friday post, and link to this post if you want to.

Whatās made me happy recently?

What a gorgeous edition, Nicki! I got it on Audible but I’ll probably won’t be listening to it anytime soon since I have a Storytel trial subscription at the moment and lots of books I’m interested in on there š First world problems š

I only found out about it a week before publication when I spotted the author posting about publication day. What’s Storytel all about then?

Storytel is much like BookBeat and Everand. It has both ebooks and audiobooks, and it has various options going from quite cheap but with a very limited amount of time you can read and/or listen to a more expensive option where you have unlimited reading and listening time, and also something in between. I got the unlimited version for free for 45 days! That definitely made me happy š I’m not sure it’s available outside of Belgium and the Netherlands, though.

That’s great! I’m struggling with not having enough time to listen at the moment, so I think I’m going to pause my BookBeat subscription next month.

Oh, how come? It is a shame to pay for something you’re not using so it makes sense to pause it.

Well, I’ve got 15 hours with Spotify and I’ve just got a 99p deal with audible for 3 months, plus loads I already own, so I don’t have enough time! š

Oh it’s like that, that’s a luxury issue š I had BookBeat again for a month at 10p, which obviously was an offer I couldn’t refuse, but I cancelled it again afterwards cos I don’t like the way they count the hours. I listen at 1.5x speed but they deduct the full audiobook at normal speed, and I read much faster than the length they count for ebooks, so it’s not worth it for me. But they do have audiobooks Everand doesn’t have so it is nice to take advantage of a deal once in a while š¤·š¼āāļø

Spotify does the same, 15 hours a month included with premium.

Nice little extra, if you have a subscription anyway. What is their audiobook library like?

It’s good, most of the books the BookBeat doesn’t have are on there!

I also got my copy of The Art of Lie, and I’m about to go to Italy for a week, which is making me very happy indeed!

What’s made me happy this week was a few days away with my pals in London. We went to see ABBA Voyage which was incredible and we had the most amazing afternoon tea in a posh restaurant!

Such lovely photos. Those edges are so pretty and that beach is something to dream of! I got a compliment from a boss at work who was impressed with my efficiency if that counts. I even told my parents about it, so I was kind of proud.

That edition of The Art Of A Lie is absolutely stunning! ⤠I miss living close to the beach… Beach walks are the best and I love them in all seasons as well.
The weather has been a bit milder this week and I was able to transplant a lot of my seedling pink poppy plants into bigger pots… The garden is starting to look like a gardening center with all the plants that are waiting for Spring so that I can take them to the countryside plot haha. It was great to be able to potter around in the garden though!
