I do love a book challenge, so I’ve joined in with this one after spotting it on Bluesky.
Day 23 – A book set where you live
I’m actually choosing two books today, as I loved The Occupation by Deborah Swift, and The Wartime Book Club by Kate Thompson, both set here in Jersey, during the Nazi Occupation of the Channel Islands, during World War Two.
I’m not tagging anyone, but if you want to join in please do!

So many to choose from for Edinburgh! I’ll go with The Silent Daughter by Emma Christie which is even more local and set largely in my neighbourhood! Claire Askew’s DI Birch books are great too. Birch lives on Portobello Prom and goes to the same Chinese takeaway as me 😆
Off topic but suddenly the Bluesky share button isn’t working for me. It opens Bluesky but the post doesn’t pop up to share. Has this happened to you? I’m experiencing it across various blogs so it’s not yours particularly. I’m wondering if the problem is on my end, a WP app problem, an issue with my iPad or settings, or a BSky problem??? I haven’t noticed anyone talking about it🤷♀️ I can try sharing from my laptop to see if that works.
That’s wonderful that you have two, Nicki💜

Ok…I was able to share your post from my laptop but I can’t share it from a browser on my iPad. Maybe I need a new iPad?!

It does happen to me occasionally but not enough to warrant mentioning to anyone. I assumed it was more of a WP problem than Bluesky.

Yes it’s probably a WP problem!

Ok…Jonetta just told me that it works on iPhone but not iPad! 🤷♀️ so there’s a work around! Yay! 🙌

That’s good to know about The Wartime Book Club, Nicki, as it has been sitting on my desk staring accusingly at me for several months now. 💖📚

I’ve read a few books set in Jersey, but neither of these. I have The Wartime Book club on my TBR though. b
