My Review

I loved this audiobook, it was funny, but also quite poignant at times.

I really liked Maggie and Flick, the main characters, who strike up an unlikely friendship whilst on the hunt for the man who destroyed Maggie’s life.

I loved following Maggie and Flick on their personal journeys, but also the physical journey they took tracking down the romance fraudster across Europe. The story is told from both Flick and Maggie’s points of view, and occasionally by the scammer and also Birdy, a brilliant minor character.

There was a fantastic twist about three quarters of the way through that really shocked me, but also delighted me as it opened up the story even more. The epilogue is brilliant as well.

I loved Shelley Conn’s performance, she’s a new-to-me narrator who I’ll definitely be looking out for in the future.

As you can tell I loved this one, and highly recommend it if you enjoy contemporary fiction featuring unlikely female friendships.
