I love book tags as you all know, and I also love cake, so how could I pass this one up when I saw it on Bookish Rita’s round up of all her favourite posts for May. It was originally created by Cait @ Paper Fury last summer and has been doing the rounds since then.
Chocolate Cake– a dark book you absolutely love

Lost Boy by Christina Henry. I read this last summer and still remember how compelling it was, one of those books that I didn’t want to put down. I loved that it was a much darker story than I anticipated.
Vanilla – a light read

Paris for One and Other Stories by Jojo Moyes put a smile on my face and made me feel good as I was reading it.
Red Velvet – a book that gave you mixed emotions

The Secret Letter Letters by Catherine Law had me laughing, crying, getting angry and shouting at the characters, you name it I had it!
Cheesecake – a book you would recommend to anyone

Goddess of Battle by Gwendolyn Rachel Ackerman a book that I thoroughly enjoyed and definitely deserves a much wider audience.
Coffee cake – a book you started but never finished

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald I’ve started this book several times and I can never get very far with it without rolling my eyes and giving up, again.
Carrot cake – a book with great writing

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens especially the audiobook narrated by Tom Baker. I’ve listened to other versions but I just love the way Tom Baker brings Dickens tale to life that I felt was with Scrooge every step of the way.
Tiramisu – a book that left you wanting more

The Mistletoe Murder and Other Stories by P.D. James definitely left me wanting to read more books by her.
Cupcakes – a series with 4+ books

I don’t read many series, and the ones I have read only have 4 books in them, so I’m going have to go with The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
Fruit cake – a book that wasn’t what you were anticipating

War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells wasn’t the dry boring sci-fi book that I thought it was going to be, a very welcome surprise.
I’m not going to tag anyone, but if you enjoyed reading this, consider yourself tagged! 😉
Sorry, you lost me at tiramisu. Drool. 😄

Those cakes were seriously distracting! I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a coffee cake but it sounds perfect. I do love Tiramisu too yumm. I haven’t read any of the books, that’s really all I can contribute as my brain is just wanting to go back to the cakes, sorry!

I felt like that as I was putting this together, I desperately wanted cake afterwards! 🤣

I’m on the same boat with The Great Gatsby! I don’t know why, I just can’t get into it, same with the movie too. Also these cakes look VERY delicious, my cravings!

Fun! But damnit I want some carrot cake now. Have you heard A Christmas Carol narrated by Tim Curry? It is also stellar. Although I do love Tom Baker (if it is the one I believe it is then he is my favorite doctor 😉).

I haven’t heard Tim Curry’s version and yes it is Tom Baker of Doctor Who. 😀

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen someone mention Lost Boy–I’ll have to check it out soon. I like retellings of classic stories anyhow, so it should be fun! Nice book picks overall. 🙂

Omg this would be perfect for my food and book blog. I haven’t done anything but reviews so far but this may be the perfect tag to start with.
