Top 4 Thursday is a bi-weekly meme hosted by Ally@Ally Writes Things.
I’ve just discovered this meme and thought it would be fun to join in with my Top 4 books that feature a beach.
I’d love a follow up to this memoir
Surf Mama by Wilma Johnson
A memoir about a 40 year old mother of 3 learning to surf in the south of France
Black Rabbit Hall by Eve Chase
A wonderful dual time mystery set in Cornwall has to feature a beach in it.
A Dangerous Place by Jacqueline Winspear
A Maisie Dobbs Mystery set in Gibraltar during the Spanish Civil War has some great beach scenes in it
The Secret Letters by Catherine Law
Another book set in Cornwall but with beach scenes from WW2 this time.
Hmmm …. I’d say They All Fall Down by Cat Hogan, Seven Days by Lindy Dale, A Home In Sunset bay by Rebecca Pugh and The Cafe at The End Of The Pier series by Helen Rolfe. (horrendously they are the only books I can think of that I’ve read with beaches featuring in them!

I haven’t read any of these but I definitely like the sound of them! The first book with a beach that pops into my mind is Castle Of Water, one of my all time favorites…

Not heard of that one who wrote it?

It’s written by Dane Huckelbridge… One of the most underhyped books of last year for me. It’s a castaway story and even though I’m normally not all that into romance I absolutely adored that one.
