About the book: “Tamsin and Michelle have been inseparable since childhood. Even now they spend all their time together, along with Patrick, Michelle’s handsome husband.
Except Tamsin’s brilliant assistant Bea (without whom Tamsin’s life would fall apart) has heard a nasty rumour that Patrick is playing away. Determined to uncover the truth, Tamsin devises a honey-trap to test his resolve, using Bea as bait. But she never counted on Bea having her own agenda . . .
Struggling to untangle the web of deceit, Patrick seems to be constantly one step ahead. Can Tamsin reveal the truth to Michelle without ruining everyone’s life along the way?”
My Review
Jane Fallon is a new-to-me author, that I’ve meaning to read even since I read raves reviews for Faking Friends last year. When I read fantastic reviews for Tell Me A Secret last week I knew it had to be sooner rather than later.
The story is told from Tamsin and Bea’s points of view and split into 5 parts. The audiobook is read by two narrators Antonia Beamish and Genevieve Swallow. I loved Tamsin right from the start with her self deprecating humour and sarcasm. I liked Bea at first, but as the story developed she really did irritate me. You’ll have to read the book yourself to find out why that might me. Both narrators were perfect for this book, especially Antonia Beamish’s perfect portrayal of Tamsin, she was Tamsin for me as I listened.
Domestic dramas aren’t normally my genre as I usually find that most of the characters aren’t particularly likeable. Fortunately this book wasn’t like that, because although the situations the characters found themselves in, made for uncomfortable listening at times, this book really hooked me and I got really involved in the plot and the characters lives.
I found myself laughing out loud and shouting at the characters for the way they were behaving, really hoping that the plot was going to go the way I thought it should. I wasn’t disappointed and in fact I was quite surprised by how things turned out in the end.
If you enjoy domestic dramas you’ll definitely love this one.
This is my second book for the 2019 Library Love Challenge
I’ll have to keep this one in mind when I buy my next Fallon book.

I didn’t want to give anything away but I’m guessing that it’s similar to her other books in that there’s a whole lot deception going on.

I might have to try and the audible version I love it when there is more than one narrator gives it more of a feel to the story

I don’t read many domestic thrillers, but I’m glad to hear the ending was surprising in a relatively good way! Nice review, Nicki! 😀

I have this on my shelf, I think. I picked it up in a charity shop at some point last year and still haven’t read it. I am sure I will at some point!
