September was a good bookish month for me! I read 4 books and listened to 6 audiobooks, so 10 in total. I haven’t reviewed many of them because they weren’t ARCs or blog tour books, so I didn’t feel like I had to post reviews. It’s actually taken away some of the pressure I put myself under sometimes, to review everything I read. I might post them at some point as mini reviews, but I’m not sure at the moment. 🤷♀️
I’ve become very picky in terms of blog tours, I only accept books I’m really impatient to read. Same with NetGalley. Having too many review responsibilities stresses me out 😄
I used to keep a literary diary, but gave it up after my artistic career suddenly accelerated. Right now most of my reading, except the recreational reading, is condensed into my visual art work.
fab month! I’m with you on the review front – that need to review everything was beginning to make me not enjoy the books so much so it’s nice to take that pressure off for a while! xx
I don’t review everything I read either…. I do record them on GR and give a star rating. My fav reads in Sep were The Winter Orphans and An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth
I give myself the option of not reviewing books that aren’t ARCs and when I do review them I allow myself a much more casual way of doing it. It definitely takes the pressure off and I like it!
What The Wind Knows was a favorite for me as well of course. 😉 I can’t wait to read The Bullet That Missed! Looks like you had a great month… Here’s to a wonderful October. xx
That looks great reading month. I write reviews of every book I read but if it’s not ARC I might post them wherever I have space for them but I agree it sure reduce the stress of posting them.
I don’t review everything I read either, it’s nice just to read for fun in between books you “have to” review. Glad you had a good month, Nicki!

Thanks! I think I’ll be doing it more and more as I’m not really doing blog tours that much! 😀

My library book reviews definitely differ from my arcs. I just write a little something. Nice wrap up 🌺

I do that on Goodreads as well Carol, and I’m just getting back into StoryGraph. Are you on there?

Yes I’m on story graph. I decided to try it out and now I can’t quit GR. So I’m doing both! 😩 #bookproblems

I know Brighton Rock quite well, I studied it but had read it before and since. Was it your first time reading it?

Yes, it was although I’d seen the old film years ago.

The film is a very good adaptation!
