The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

I do enjoy memoirs particularly on audiobook actually. Recently read Hugh Bonneville’s memoir which was good. Billy Connolly’s ia excellent. Others I’ve enjoyed are from Sarah Millicent, Claudia Winkleman, Sandi Toksvig and Sue Perkins.

I really need to check out Bob Mortimer’s because here in America, most of us have no clue who he is. I’m currently reading and ARC of his fiction book and would love to find out more about him.

He’s very funny and does a lot of panel shows these days., especially one called Would I Lie To You. Here’s a link to a short clip if you’re interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsuuiVzS6Js&t=7s

Yes, I enjoy memoirs as long as they are not just a rehash of drugs and sex. I agree, if they are read by the author, they are even better. One this year that I did not enjoy and it was a DNF was Matthew Perry’s book. I am enjoying Bono’s book right now.

I’m so glad you’re enjoying Bono’s book Carla. I’ve seen a few negative reviews for Matthew Perry’s so didn’t fancy that one at.

They’re not my first choice of book to pick up but if I like the person then I’m happy to read! I just always wonder what they’re leaving out and not telling us lol xx

oooh I never thought about them leaving out details but I bet they do! 😂 xx

You and I are of like minds on this one, Nicki💜 Hearing the memoir is a must and having the subject do the storytelling. I’ve enjoyed your reviews immensely as there’s always a reason you chose the person’s life story.

Yes, I do remember seeing each of those on your blog. I can see enjoying the audio when the person who wrote the memoir reads it. I haven’t tried that yet, but I think I will.

I don’t read a lot of non fiction, but if I do it’s mostly memoirs. Some of them are on my list of favorites, including The Glass Castle, The Sun Does Shine and Born A Crime. (I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot here).
