My Review

Libby Page is one of my favourite authors, and this was another really lovely feel good read.

It had a gentle pace, told from Lou, Donna and Maggy’s points of  view, three women at different stages of life, in situations that have brought about dramatic change.

I really liked Lou and Maggy, and loved Maggy’s transformation aided by Lou and her shop. I eventually warmed to Donna, who was a very straight-laced character. I enjoyed how their characters developed as the twists and turns of the story took them on different journeys alongside one another.

Libby Page has created another wonderful book full of community, and close friendships between women, something that she excels at. As usual with her books I had tears in my eyes towards the end, both from sadness and joy, in the way everything turned out for the three women.

Highly recommended, if you enjoy gentle contemporary novels, featuring small communities and strong female friendships.
