My Review

This audiobook was brilliant, it was so good to be back in the world of The Time Police, with Max from The Chronicles of St. Mary’s as well. This was another one of my most anticipated listens of the year and it has definitely lived up to all my expectations, especially with Zara Ramm’s superb performance!

As I’ve mentioned before this is definitely a series to be read/listened to in order, especially as The Time Police series comes towards the last few books in the St. Mary’s series, so lots of spoilers.

Part of the plot carries on from the cliffhanger at the end of the previous book, which was excellent as there was a big mystery to be solved. It also involved a timeslip and dinosaurs in Wales! Max from St. Mary’s is called in to help, but not before she goes on a trip back to ancient Rome to find out exactly how and why Romulus, the founder of Rome, vanished into thin air.

As usual there was a lot going on, but it all made sense, honestly! There were lots of laugh out loud moments as well, which is one of the many reasons why I love this series, as well as the brilliant characters, and of course the fascinating historical content as well.

This was another brilliant edition to the series, which has left me feeling a little bit sad because I have to wait for another Time Police book, but fortunately not too long, as I’m sure they’ll crop up in the new Smallhope & Pennyroyal book, or Jodi Taylor’s short stories later on this year.

I highly recommend the series if you enjoy books featuring time travel, and laugh out loud moments.
