My Review

This is the second book of The Chronicles of St. Mary’s, following the historians and others time travelling to witness key events in contemporary time.

This book starts off with Max and her best friend Kal visiting Victorian London, Whitechapel to be precise. It’s Kal’s last time jump and she wants to find Jack the Ripper of all people! I mean who in their right mind would want to do that? As you can imagine things don’t got to plan.

As well as Victorian London, Max and St. Mary’s visit Canterbury in the 12th century to witness the murder of Thomas a Becket, go on a team building exercise to the island of Mauritius in search of Dodos, The Hanging Gardens of Nineveh, and to Scotland in the 16th Century to stop the timeline changing history.

There’s also lot going on with between Max and Leon, the Chief Technical Officer, with sparks constantly flying between them. I actually felt really sorry for Leon, as he’d been through a lot in this book. Max can be very annoying at times!

I really enjoyed this re-read, in, fact it was better than the first time, as I only gave it 3 out of 5 last time. I didn’t remember most of it which made it more enjoyable, and I can’t wait to read book 3 which is one of my favourites of the series.

As most of you know I love this series, and definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a series full of history, adventure, humour, time-travel and sometimes a bit of romance!
