My Review
I really enjoyed this latest book in the Spirit series by Rob Keeley, featuring Victorian ghost Edward Fitzberranger and his friends from the present day, Ruby and Jayden who I first met in The Fighting Spirit last year.
This time Ruby and Jayden accompany Edward on a time travel adventure to 1207, where Edward’s cousin Sir Francis and his wife Tina, need their help to find a ancient relic for King John. Of course the friends jump at the chance to time travel again, so hire some medieval costumes from a fancy dress shop, and set off on their adventure.
I really enjoyed meeting up with Ruby and Jayden again, and was thrilled when I was reacquainted with Sir Francis and his wife Tina who first appeared in The Sword of The Spirit.
As to be expected from this series, it was a fun story with thrills and twists along the way, including some very unexpected characters in a creepy forest! I loved the way the book finished on a cliffhanger, leaving the way open for more time travel adventures for the friends!
Definitely recommended if enjoy fun ghost stories for middle grade readers.
Thanks so much to Rob Keeley and Troubadour Publishing for my lovely paperback copy.
