Dark Water is the third book in the DCI Erika Foster series of police procedurals. It’s set in the UK and centres on the discovery of a child’s body linked to a unsolved historical case. Will Erika and her team manage to solve the case or will it end up in the mess like the previous investigation?
This was a fast paced sorry with likeable and despicable characters. The plot was good with a good mystery element, which kept me trying to work out who the murderer was. I liked Erika and her team and wasn’t put off by the fact that this was my first introduction, having missed out on the previous two novels.
I almost gave up because one of the characters always seemed to be sexually aroused every time he went near a woman. This didn’t seem real to me and didn’t add to the storyline. The ending was good but not the killer twist I thought it might be.
Thanks to NetGalley, the author and Bookotoure for my digital copy.
I’m so glad I read your review for this.. everyone’s raving about the book (publication day today so I see a lot of posts) and I’m afraid mine is not so praising. I liked the book but I didn’t wow me or anything.
