Hello I’m so excited to finally share my review on the audiobook blog tour for Sleep by C.L. Taylor. Thanks to Lauren Tavella at Avon Books UK HQ for the invite and for a digital copy of the audiobook via the audiobooks.com app. Before I share my review, here’s what the book is all about:

47163584._SX318_All Anna wants is to be able to sleep. But crushing insomnia, terrifying night terrors and memories of that terrible night are making it impossible. If only she didn’t feel so guilty…

To escape her past, Anna takes a job at a hotel on the remote Scottish island of Rum, but when seven guests join her, what started as a retreat from the world turns into a deadly nightmare.

Each of the guests have a secret but one of them is lying – about who they are and why they’re on the island. There’s a murderer staying in the Bay View hotel. And they’ve set their sights on Anna.

Seven strangers. Seven secrets. One deadly lie. Someone’s going to sleep and never wake up”

My Review

What a fantastic audiobook and what a wild ride this was!

Poor Anna I felt so sorry for her, hoping that she would be okay the whole time I was listening to this audiobook.

This felt like an Agatha Christie novel, with characters stuck on an island with no escape from the storm. It was a very clever unrelenting thriller that hooked me right from the beginning. Just as I was recovering from one incident, something else bad happened! I  needed to press the pause button to catch my breath towards the end as the tension just got worse. I had so many suspects, in fact at one point everyone was a suspect, even Anna!

Clare Corbett’s narration was amazing, her voice talents for this audiobook were absolutely fantastic. How can one person voice so many different characters, old and young, male and female? I’m definitely adding her to my favourite narrators list.

I wholeheartedly recommend this on audio to thriller lovers and audiobook lovers, you’ll really enjoy listening to this one.
