Hello and welcome to my 2020 version of the Finally Fall Book Tag I took part in last year. It was originally created by Alina on her BookTube channel Tall Tales.
ππππππ
In fall, the air is crisp and clear: Name a book with a vivid setting.

The audiobook of Daisy Jones & the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid! Even though it’s a novel it felt like I was listening to a real documentary about the rise and fall of a real rock band!

ππππππ
Nature is beautiful⦠but also dying: Name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief.

The Salt Path by Raynor Winn a wonderful memoir that covers many issues including homelessness and terminable illness. Despite these topics it’s a really uplifting read!

ππππππ
Fall is back to school season: Share a non-fiction book that taught you something new

9 Secrets to Thriving by Emma J. Bell is a inspiring, hands-on audiobook! I learnt all about how to thrive and find inner resilience from the different βthriversβ the author interviewed from around the world. They shared how theyβd kept going through drastic circumstances, and I was astounded that they not only kept going, but grew in spite of the situations theyβd found themselves in. Incredible!

ππππππ
In order to keep warm, itβs good to spend some time with the people we love: Name a fictional family/household/friend-group that youβd like to be a part of.

I’d love to be part of the friendship group in The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron came across as a fun, feisty, intelligent group of friends who would be a joy to be friends with, especially when there’s sherry and cake! π

ππππππ
The colourful leaves are piling up on the ground: Show us a pile of fall-coloured spines!

Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside: Share a book wherein somebody is telling a story.

The Unlikely Escape of Uriah Heep by H.G. Parry a book lovers dream! Full of literary characters who come to life because readers have connected with them in such a personal way.

ππππππ
The nights are getting darker: Share a dark, creepy read.

The audiobook of I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid was incredibly creepy!! π±π±π±

ππππππ
The days are getting colder: Name a short, heart-warming read that could warm up somebodyβs cold and rainy day.

I loved hearing the poems and anecdotes from the audiobook of Pam Ayres – Down the Line. It made me laugh out loud a lot and would definitely cheer anyone up! π
ππππππ
Fall returns every year: Name an old favourite that youβd like to return to soon.

As the weather has turned older it’s got me really excited about listening to A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens read by Tom Baker. He performs it so brilliantly that it’s a real highlight of my seasonal listening.

ππππππ
Fall is the perfect time for cosy reading nights: Share your favourite cosy reading βaccessoriesβ!

Excellent answers, Nicki! I definitely need to try The Unlikely Escape of Uriah Heep, it sounds awesome! Also been wondering if I should pick up my copy of I’m Thinking of Ending Things now… I saw the movie and I can officially confirm to you how surrealistic and trippy it is! π

Thanks Lashaan and yes to both of those books. I could easily listen to Uriah Heep again it was such a brilliant book! I’ve yet to watch I’m Thinking of Ending Things as the trailer sort of put me off, because it was too weird! π

I love your answers Nikki and the gifs you added. I am going to try and see if I can find that version of The Christmas Carol. I have never listened to it, but read it almost every year.
