I only spend a day in Historic Rome and needed at least 3 days to see it all. I hope you get to visit, Nicki. I really want to visit Malta, so I guess Amanda in Malta by Darlene Foster would be my pick.
I’d like to go back to Rome. Only been there overnight in the early 90s on an interrailing holiday. I wasn’t feeling at all well and don’t feel I appreciated the city. Maybe next year. A book set there? How about The Rome Affair by Karen Swan?
I’ve been twice to Rome (one in high school and one a couple years after), and I would go back in a heartbeat. It’s such a magical city with so much history!
It a great city to go to with a guide… I remember back in high school we had our teachers tell us everything about the different historical sights; that and we each had to do a presentation about a specific church or location.
Hope you get to visit!! xx

Fantastic, Jo 💜 I spent a day there when I went inter-railing in the late 1980s and I’d love to go back!
