My Review

This was a fantastic Eddie Flynn thriller! It’s the 10th book in the series, and going by the author’s note at the end of the book even he can’t quite believe he’s written that many!

I love this series and I love a good courtroom drama/legal thriller. My first introduction to Eddie Flynn was back in 2019, when I buddy read Thirteen the fourth book in the series. I had such a great time with it, that it’s become one of my favourites crime series.

In this 10th book things aren’t looking good at for Eddie at all, not in the prologue anyway and in the courtroom as well!

Just like the other books in the series I was I hooked and enjoyed every minute of it. I really enjoyed my time with Eddie and his team, although one of them was missing, and I’m not sure why. I didn’t finish the previous book as it was about a serial killer, and I don’t like books with them in. So if anyone knows please tell me what happened, not in the comments, because of spoilers!

This book is quite similar to Fifty Fifty in that two people are possibly guilty of a murder, and you’re never too sure until the very end who’s telling the truth. It was full of really nasty characters, especially Patrick Vanderpool’s father Justin, who really reminded me of Rupert Murdoch. One of the reasons I love this series is because I love the courtroom scenes, and I was really pleased that there were good ones right from the start of the book.

I guessed some of the reveals, but there was a brilliant one right at the end that I didn’t guess and that had me smiling and saying ‘yess’ out loud, good job I was at home by myself. It was very satisfying!

Highly recommended if you enjoy fast twisty legal thrillers set in New York.
