August has been an odd bookish month. It sorted off really well, with me completing the 20 Books of Summer Challenge early, and then it really slowed down. It’s because my elderly Mum (88) hasn’t been well, so I’ve been busy keeping an eye on her and taking her to appointments, which has ended up with me not really feeling like reading. I’ve spent more time listening to music and watching YouTube videos instead, which I’ve enjoyed. I did manage to read/listen to 8 books though, which isn’t bad, considering.
For those of you who enjoy graphs, here are my stats from StoryGraph
Favourites
I enjoyed all of the books I read and listened to this month, but these were my stand out favourites. ICYMI here are my reviews for The Names, A Week to Remember, and The Ballad of Smallhope & Pennyroyal

Wow, 20 countries is amazing, Nicki. I’m sorry to hear that you mom is not doing well. It’s tough when our parents get older. I can understand why you wanted to relax and listen to music or watch videos. Sorry that both of you are dealing with this.
