My Review

I absolutely loved this thriller from new-to-me author Rosie Walsh. This was another 99p bargain and I’m really glad I snapped it up a few months ago.

The title definitely attracted me and when I read the prologue I knew I had to keep reading to find out what happened to Carrie’s husband, Johan. Why had he been taken away by armed men? Why had Carrie remarried, and why did Johan never get in contact with her again?

There were so many questions just in the synopsis, and the book was brilliant at slowly answering them. I liked Carrie, although she was a bit regimented in the beginning, until she met Johan and they had a true whirlwind romance. Of course I knew partly what was going to happen on that beach in Thailand, but I definitely was not prepared for all the reveals as the plot developed.

This is definitely a book that you need to go in blind, so I’m gong to make this review short, except to say that there was a massive twist that really did take me by surprise. In fact there were a few. It was very clever and it makes me want to read her back catalogue.

Highly recommended if you enjoy twisty domestic thrillers!
