My Review

This was another brilliant feel good read from Charlotte Butterfield, who has become one of my favourite authors!

Nell is a brilliant character, I loved her immediately even though she made some poor decisions throughout the book. I loved that she was a ‘free spirit’, but obviously that had consequences that she regretted later on, when she didn’t die on the date she expected.

I loved how the story unfolded, with her waking up on the day after she was supposed to be dead, and what she was going to do next, especially after getting rid of all her possessions. And she sent those five letters to her family members and former lovers. Gosh what would you do?!

This was real laugh out loud book, which so engrossed me, that I didn’t care that I might have got strange looks from people as I was laughing about Nell and the people she meets as she gets this second chance at life. I loved Tom the comedian, Juno the elderly lady she meets on a bus and Andrea the barge owner. I wasn’t so keen on Greg, her teenage boyfriend although he did try to be likeable.

I won’t say any more because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, as it’s a such a fun book, but with some good messages about living life to the full.

This is the third book by Charlotte Butterfield I’ve read, all of them this year. I’m already looking forward to her next book and I’m going to continue to read her back catalogue.

Highly recommended if you’re looking for a laugh out loud feel good, second chance, novel!
